Jerry Stevens is skilled and trained as an aural piano tuner with over 35 years experience. Founded on modern concert grand tuning standards of the equal temperament based on A440 Hz, Jerry's traditional aural tuning method of setting harmonic beat frequencies between intervals is augmented by a digital tuning device with the ear taking precedence. Every note gets checked 20-30 times using various combinations of intervals and registers. He finishes by playing a variety of styles of music over the entire keyboard to make sure the action is in proper regulation and that all keys are in good working order and each note accurately tuned.

Jerry began his piano tuning career with 14 years of experience working for the first and most reputable music company in Austin at the time, J.R. Reed Music Co. He currently has a growing, widespread and well established long-time customer base in the Central Texas region. Jerry tunes pianos for many churches and schools, including 30+ years for the Lockhart Independent school district. Jerry has tuned for many performance venues and recording studios including the famous Texas Treefort Studios.

Jerry is a multi-instrumental musician and award winning singer/songwriter who has performed throughout the U.S. and internationally for decades with many well known bands including his own ensemble Root 1. Jerry is also an audio engineer for live events as well as studio productions and recordings, he is a studio owner and producer of many band projects, radio ads, and PSA’s.
